Stop 1
Myoban Yunosato Onsen is a distinctive hot spring resort nestled in the scenic foothills above Beppu City, renowned for its traditional atmosphere and unique geothermal features. The panoramic outdoor baths offer sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and lush greenery, providing a tranquil escape from the city below
Stop 2
Begin your journey at Umi Jigoku, renowned for its stunning cobalt blue waters that resemble the sea. This hot spring, with a temperature of approximately 98°C, was formed over 1,200 years ago from volcanic activity. You can enjoy the beautiful surroundings, including a traditional Japanese garden and a greenhouse featuring the largest demon lotus in Japan.
Stop 3
You can witness a variety of geothermal phenomena including bubbling mud pools and steam vents. This site is famous for its unique "Drinking Onsen," where guests can taste the mineral-rich hot spring water. Kamado Jigoku also offers a chance to indulge in local delicacies like hell-steamed pudding and soft serve ice cream.
