Itinerary
Stop 1
We cross the river and enter the Island. The experience begins with an introduction of Chorao Island. We speak about the etymology/topography of Chorao Island, geology of the Island, along with the Pre-Portuguese and Portuguese influence.
Stop 2
This is a temple visit. This stop includes mythological stories of Devaki and Krishna connected to Chorao Island, and we also speak about why we celebrate certain festivals and its connection to Lord Krishna, the influence of Brahmins towards shaping this place and how they used to coexist with the natives.
Stop 3
We talk about a unique feature you will notice at this shrine. Next to the temple, we also talk about sluice gate fishing practices and the mangroves.
Stop 4
Visit to this iconic church in the Island. We speak about the architecture of the church and the influence of the community that built this church.
Stop 5
Visit a traditional kulagar and know about the the different spices along with interacting with the locals. Enjoy a hearty breakfast/high tea cooked by the locals.
