Itinerary

Stop 1

Shakadang Trail in Taroko Naitonal Park has been one of the most popular hiking trails, hikers can enjoy the vibrant turquoise waters of the river, the towering marble cliffs. Stakataka, the name for white rocks, were found all over the riverbed of the Shakadangxi (river), mostly marble and gneiss. The river decorated by the green and white rocks and the stonewall path are the most attractive feature of the trail.

The name "Swallow Grotto" comes from the numerous small holes and crevices in the cliffs that serve as nesting sites for swallows.

The Tunnel of Nine Turns (Jiuqudong) is carved through the mountainside, providing a winding passage that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding marble cliffs and the Liwu River.

From the Buluowan Bridge, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding lush landscapes, dramatic cliffs, and the Liwu River below.

Buluowan is a river terrace on the east side of Taroko Gorge and is separated into upper and lower terraces. It was originally the site of an indigenous village, Buluowan meaning “tracking prey" in Truku language.

This trail leads adventurous explorers through lush forests, captivating geological formations and waterfall, ultimately culminating at the Changchun Shrine.
