This is a private two hour walking tour of the Kaiserbagh Palace complex. This historic Palace is considered one of India’s beautiful royal buildings. It was planned and built by the Rajput ruler, Wajid-Ali-Shah in the mid 1800s. Your tour will also take you to the Kotwara House, now the home of famous Indian filmmaker, Muzaffar Ali. Itinerary
Stop 1
You will be picked up from your hotel in Lucknow and will be escorted in your private air-conditioned vehicle to Kaiserbagh Palace Complex at approx. 01:30 PM. Upon arrival, meet your local guide. On this walking tour, we explore the Kaiserbagh Palace Complex. You will see old pictures and maps of this Palace in its heyday which highlight its beauty. Kaiserbagh Palace Complex in Lucknow was built between 1848 - 1850 by Wajid-Ali-Shah, the last Nawab of Awadh. At the center of the palace is the white stone structure named Baradari. Initially this structure was entirely covered with silver. The palace also has gilt crowns, Mughal style pavilions and European style statues throughout. The tour includes tea at the Kotwara House, a small part of Kaiserbagh, now the abode of Indian filmmaker, Muzaffar Ali. While enjoying your tea, u will watch a clip from his classic film, “Umrao Jaan”. Upon conclusion of your tour, you will be driven back to your hotel in Lucknow.
