Overview
This 3-day trek offers the most immersive way to experience Gunung Leuser National Park, home to one of the last wild populations of Sumatran orangutans on Earth. Spending two nights deep in the rainforest gives you significantly more time and a higher chance of meaningful wildlife encounters, including orangutans, Thomas leaf monkeys, white-handed gibbons, macaques, and hornbills. Groups are kept small with a maximum of 6 travelers, led by certified local guides native to the community with 5+ years of jungle experience and deep knowledge of the ecosystem, medicinal plants, and local traditions. All National Park permits, camping equipment, fresh meals, drinking water, tropical fruits, and a river tubing ride back to the village are fully included.
