Stop 2
Built in the 1650s by the second Ya’rubi, Imam Sultan Bin Saif Al Ya'rubi, with roots going back to the 12th century, this fortress is Oman's most popular national monument. It was the administrative center for Imams and Walis during peace and conflict. Taking about 12 years to complete, the fort sits above an underground stream and symbolizes the town's importance in Oman's history.
