Itinerary
Stop 1
8:45 AM ā Depart from Nagano Station Depending on your selected option, meet your guide in front of Beckās Coffee, just outside the Shinkansen gates. Approx. 2.5-hour drive to Kamikochi.
Stop 2
8:00 AM or 9:45 AM ā Pickup at Matsumoto Station Depending on your selected option, your guide will meet you at the Alps (West) Exit ā look out for our light yellow Toyota van. Approx. 1.5-hour drive to Kamikochi.
Stop 3
Spend approximately 3 hours in Kamikochi. Our friendly local guide will lead a scenic loop walk from Kappa Bridge to Taisho Pond, where you can enjoy the lunch you bring with you, then return via Tashiro Bridge. Your guide will share insights into Kamikochiās nature and history along the way. Great photo opportunities throughout the peaceful riverside and forest trail. After the walk, we will drive approximately 1.5 hours back to Matsumoto for the castle visit.
Stop 4
Our guide will introduce the history and significance of Matsumoto Castle (a national treasure of Japan) from the outside. Guests can then enjoy free time to explore the inside of the castle tower (admission not included) or stroll the surrounding historic streets.
Stop 5
For guests who started from Matsumoto Station: Youāll be dropped off at Matsumoto Station in time for onward travel. If your hotel is closer to Matsumoto Castle, drop-off near the castle area is also possible.
Stop 6
For guests starting from Nagano Station: After visiting Matsumoto Castle, we will drive approximately 1 hour back to Nagano Station for drop-off.

- Lunch is not included. We strongly recommend buying a light meal such as onigiri before entering Kamikochi. While there are food shops near Kappa Bridge, they are often crowded with long linesāespecially during peak hours. Bringing your own lunch allows you to enjoy it freely while surrounded by the peaceful beauty of nature.
- This tour takes you straight into central Kamikochi in a fast, comfortable vanāno lines, no transfers. Public buses are available but often involve long waits, and rental cars arenāt allowed. Large tour buses may be slower or stop farther from the main trails.
