Overview
Find the sake you love at Sake Potan, a small, calm sake bar in Osaka's Fukushima district, just minutes from central Osaka. This experience was designed by our owner, a former sake brewer who trained at a sake brewery in Osaka, and is led in English by one of our sake specialists. Across seven 45 ml omakase tastings — omakase means the specialist's selection — you will compare flavors, sake rice varieties, serving temperatures and glassware, and discover your own sake style. Three seasonal Japanese small dishes, chosen to pair with the sake, are served, and a tasting sheet helps you record what you liked. By the end, choosing sake at izakaya and bottle shops during the rest of your trip becomes simple — and fun. We enjoy conversation as much as sake itself, and look forward to welcoming you.
