Kawagoe Kumano Shrine was founded in 1590. The shrine was originally established by bringing its sacred spirit from the Kumano region in Wakayama, which is famous for its spiritual shrines. This place is known for bringing good fortune, strong relationships, and protection from bad luck.

Toki no Kane (時の鐘), the Bell of Time, one of Kawagoe’s most famous landmarks, is a traditional wooden clock tower that has been telling time for over 400 years.

Kashiya Yokocho (菓子屋横丁), or Candy Alley, is one of the most nostalgic and charming streets in Kawagoe! This alley is famous for its traditional Japanese sweets and snacks, many of which have been handmade using old-fashioned methods for generations.
