Itinerary
Stop 1
Begin your journey with a scenic drive through Salalah’s lush mountains. Your first stop is Wadi Dawkah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site home to over 5,000 frankincense trees. Breathe in the rare, aromatic air and learn from your guide about the ancient Frankincense Trail that made Dhofar famous. A timeless oasis in the desert.
Stop 2
Pause in Thumrait, once a Bedouin settlement, now a lively desert town. Stretch your legs, meet locals, and get a first glimpse of daily life on the desert’s edge.
Stop 3
Step into legend at the “Atlantis of the Sands”. Explore the ruins of Ubar, a trading hub once buried under shifting dunes. Walk among crumbling walls where caravans once carried frankincense across Arabia.

Arrive at 5:30 PM at the stunning sand dunes near Al-Khadaf to begin your exciting adventure. Welcome to your remote desert camp, 200 km from Salalah — where silence, stars, and sand surround you. Savor a warm Omani tea, then settle into your tent. After freshening up, enjoy a traditional Arabian buffet dinner under the open sky. Spend the evening by the bonfire or strolling beneath millions of stars. Wake early for a magical sunrise over untouched dunes, followed by a hearty breakfast before your return journey. Later, savor a delicious Arabian buffet dinner under the stars. After dinner, spend your evening either gathered around a cozy bonfire or taking a peaceful walk beneath the vast desert sky around the camp, soaking in the tranquil atmosphere. Rest well, then rise early to witness the extraordinary desert sunrise. Afterwards, enjoy a traditional Arabian breakfast before returning to Salalah to conclude your unforgettable desert adventure.

- Dress in light, breathable clothing during the day and bring a warm layer for the cooler desert night. Wear comfortable closed-toe shoes or sandals suitable for walking on sand. Protect yourself from the sun – bring sunglasses, a hat, and high-SPF sunscreen.
- 4x4 vehicles used for the off-road safaris are air-conditioned with a maximum capacity of 6 passengers plus driver. All drivers are qualified off-road professionals. All vehicles are equipped with seat-belts and passengers are required to wear them at all times.
- Pack light – bring only essentials in a small backpack or day bag. Mobile signal is very limited or unavailable in the Empty Quarter – inform friends or family in advance. Carry personal medications and any toiletries you may need (especially if you have allergies or specific needs).
- Bring a camera or phone for photos, and a power bank – charging options are limited at the desert camp. Be ready for a digital detox – enjoy the peace and disconnect from screens. Use the bathroom before departure – desert stops may be basic.
- Stay hydrated – bottled water will be provided, but drink regularly throughout the tour. Respect the environment – take only photos, leave only footprints. Follow your guide’s instructions during dune driving and desert walks – safety comes first!
