Itinerary
Stop 1
Explore the grounds and the high-rise viewing tower of this well-known obelisk built to commemorate Indonesian independence from the Netherlands. Entry to the grounds is free, but the "Optional Tower ascent has a nominal fee.
Stop 2
Take a brief walk around the cathedral grounds and view the interior and exterior of the cathedral, as well as the prayer garden. This demonstrates an interesting juxtaposition of culture & religion in Jakarta during the tour, showing Christian traditions alongside the (majority) Islamic traditions and also Buddhist traditions.
Stop 3
Explore the largest Islamic mosque in all of southeast Asia, with a welcoming invitation by the mosque staff to view the interior and exterior grounds and structure.
Stop 4
We ride the train to see the bustling historical central city train station and see both modern Indonesia as well as a glimpse at the Jakarta of the past.

Stop 7
We will ride over to see the markets, eateries, and lively daily activity in Jakarta's most famous Chinatown center. Here, you can try out a delicacy or two, or stop for a restful cold drink, while viewing the exotic marketplace offerings.
